can give hope

Habitat can keep building homes and homeowners every year thanks to our supporters who give hope by being generous with their time and treasure! Check out what your support has enabled Habitat to do within the Anderson County community, and use the buttons below to continue building homes, communities and hope!

Temisha, Habitat homeowner since 2023

“There are so many people in unfortunate situations, and what they really need is hope. Whether it is donating time, resources, or money, you can always give hope.”

Final payment

Mortgage payoffs

Habitat Anderson is reaching the point where many of our homeowners are paying off their mortgages. This year we had 2 homeowners achieve this goal.

Sweat equity

Time put in

There were a total of 1,007 hours of sweat equity done by 15 households, whether it be volunteering in the ReStore, on the construction site, or financial education courses.

Homeowners

Program Growth

We added 6 new future homeowners to the program, for a total of 15 households working toward homeownership, and we had 5 home closings (Temisha, Thomas, Brandy, Tammy and Claudine).

If you want to see more of Habitat’s impact, you can view our homeowner stories. We have written blogs and videos for each homeowner. Also, we had one of our homeowners selected by Habitat for Humanity International to use her story for one of their new marketing campaigns!

community giving

Events

We are filled with immense gratitude for the remarkable support we received from everyone in our local community. Their dedication and generosity have made it possible for us to continue our mission of providing safe and affordable housing to those in need. Whether it is through volunteering their time, making financial contributions, advocating for our cause, or doing some fun activity for fundraising, the people of Anderson County have demonstrated their commitment to building affordable housing and community. With every act of kindness and support, we are able to make a tangible difference in the lives of families and individuals, creating a ripple effect of positive change throughout our community. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of the individuals who have shown their belief in our mission, as their support is fundamental to our ongoing success.

Outside of our special builds, we hosted the annual dinner and participated in four events in the Anderson area: The cardboard boat race, Dancing for our Heroes, Lights of Hope and the Michelin golf tournament. These events are always fun and help Habitat raise money for affordable housing! For Dancing for Our Heroes, we thank Matt and Sarah Hogan for being our 2024 dancers. Also, Dan and his wife did an outstanding job with their Gilligan’s Island-themed boat for Habitat in the 2023 Friends of Broadway Lake Charity Cardboard Boat Race! And a big thank you to Michelin, for inviting us to the golf tournament and all the other amazing support you give Habitat. We have such a great community here in Anderson.

Our Builds

Michelin Build

This year we started our Michelin Build! This build is in celebration of the support all three Anderson Michelin plants have given us over the years and incorporates proceeds from the Michelin Charity Golf Tournament. Habitat for Humanity Anderson is grateful for the generous support of Michelin, a company that consistently demonstrates a commitment to community welfare. The ongoing partnership with Michelin has empowered us to continue our mission of providing safe and affordable housing for families in need. We commend Michelin for their dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others and look forward to witnessing the meaningful difference this new home will bring to the family.

Women Build Sponsors

Give Back Build Sponsors

This year’s executive build consisted of 23 total sponsors! Those 23 sponsors donated a total of $88,000 to Habitat. Everyone who has come out and volunteered has brought Elisha and her kids one step closer to having a safe place to live.

This year’s Women Build had 7 total sponsors and a total of 23 teams of 5 women. Our wonderful teams and sponsors raised more than $65,000 for Habitat. Seeing almost 100 women come together and build a house for Brandy was amazing to witness!
